The Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider is expected to have collected a billion Upsilon(4S) events by the time it reaches the end of its life in 2009. The KEKB group has proposed Super-KEKB, an upgrade of KEKB to increase the luminosity by an order of magnitude during a three-year shutdown, with further improvements over subsequent years and an ultimate goal of 8 x 10^35/cm^2/s luminosity. To exploit the improved luminosity, an upgrade of the Belle detector has been proposed. A new international collaboration, temporarily named Super-Belle, is in the process of being formed. Super-KEKB and Super-Belle were officially placed on the KEK 5-year Roadmap in early 2008.
